MOODY BLUES in the sling at Spice Island Marine, Prickly Bay, Grenada.

MOODY BLUES on the hard.

Boats’ hurricane tie-down straps locked together to a cable buried in concrete underground.

Note the crisscrossing of the hurricane tie-down straps.

Bird nest in an upside down kayak on a catamaran.

Liat, one of the airlines we used to get home.

A happy (?) Gene at the airport. Below somewhere is Spice Is. Marina & Moody Blues.

Gene’s bro Glen picked us up and after a visit with Gene’s mom, Glen took us to the ferry terminal.

Someone doesn’t look too happy to be off of Moody Blues . . . (too bad there’s not a self-portrait because I was on Cloud-9 to be getting home and out of the heat and humidity.)

Looking up San Juan Channel, WA.

Home sweet home, Friday Harbor, WA.

Grenada is to the far right the orange spot above the large pink spot!

Down with Moody Blues jib—headsail.

Rolling the jib up.

Big no-no, the halyard to the mainsheet got away from us and ended up at the top of the mast.

Keep your fingers this jury-rig snags the halyard.

Gene tossed it and guess what, got it! Such luck. He did not want to go up the 70’ mast.

The headsail is a huge sail to stow.

Stowing everything including sails.

Stuff and more stuff!

Hanging canvas inside Moody Blues to cover the overhead hatches.

Using the hatchs’ wood trim’s framing screws to screw the canvas over the hatches.

Fixing the hard to gets.

Prepping everything.

All portlights (windows) were covered in tinfoil.

Cans marked in case the labels came off.

Sitting in the cockpit that night cross-eyed from all the work not seeing the stars & moon straight!

This is a close-up shot of a Heliconia a.k.a. Lobster’s Claw and Wild Banana. There are about 40 species.

Portrait of the Heliconia. Beautiful Orchid growing wild.
