TIERRAMAR

LandSeaBldgWeb1

MEANS LANDSEA IN Spanish. The owners, Tim and Katie, are ex-pat-cruisers from California who sailed to Costa Rica, fell in love with it, bought land and viola, created a home away from home for cruisers.

Their mooring buoys are strong, dinghies on their dock secure, showers, laundry, entertainment center along with a sewing machine and wifi upstairs with the happy hour and endless hours hang-out deck downstairs.

If Katie thinks the time is right she creates a feast in her magnificent galley, inviting all, and accepts help from any and all who want to dig in. The book exchange is vast, the small gift shop intriguing and more than fairly priced and the location in Golfito makes it a great jump-off point to head to Panama.

I left with a heavy heart. I liked it there and the town and people. Bye Golfito.

LLENTE–FILL HER UP!

GasSignWeb5x71

IN ANTICIPATION OF leaving Golfito, Costa Rica, we motored Moody Blues over to the fuel dock. We hadn’t  bought  diesel for Moody Blues since Puerto Madera, Mexico, which was last April, while buddy-boating with Hiatus and Tropical Dance over the notorious Golfo de Tehuantepec.

If you need a good laugh, this will give it to you. “Llente,” Gene said and $929.00 later (180 gallons of diesel, plus 5.5 gallons of gas), not $92.90, but $929.00 our 3 tanks were full!

AND ANOTHER ANNIVERSARY

MBWeb4

IT HAS BEEN 365 days, one year, since Moody Blues and her crew, Bob Freeauf, David Dyer, Elizabeth Peter, Gene and Susea, left Friday Harbor. One whole year and over 4,000 miles.

Who woulda thunk it? Gene, that’s who!
